Our program is designed to avoid making new decisions, changes, or adjustments during production by planning ahead more thoroughly. While on day 1 there's still a long road of documentation and reporting ahead for Next Earth the Sustainability PA, ideally the Production team has a hands-off role after the cameras roll.
Starts by meeting with the core Production team and leading them through a series of questions that will define the scope of the project and shape our proposal to the Illinois Film Office.
Next Earth creates a custom Sustainability plan based on Illinois Film Office checklist points applicable and points achievable. Once signed-off by Production, we submit it to the Illinois Film office for approval.
The Production team will be responsible for reacting early by including sustainability terms within vendor contracts, not only earning them qualifying points but also adding assurance that there will be no surprises requiring troubleshooting or surprises resulting in points lost.
Next Earth has identified three key areas where efficiency, order and/or sustainability is stunted as a result of not having the right HODs in the room at the right time. We coordinate and lead three targeting interdepartmental discussions early in prep so that efficiency, order and/or sustainability can be built in from the beginning.
Next Earth meets with Coordinators from various departments to collect information and documentation directly associated with points on the Illinois checklist. Wherever it's possible to earn an additional point, we will flag to HODs to determine feasibility.
During the final days before principal photography Production will send out a memo to make the entire crew aware of the requirements of the uplift, while Next Earth arranges any necessary trainings for crew or vendors and encourages HODs test any new equipment.
